The Superintendent explained that there are new laws in place that deal with student transfers. The Corporation is now required to determine if it will accept students transferring into the Corporation. The choice is either to accept all transfer students or no transfer students at all. It is no longer allowed to require specific criteria for acceptance of transfer students. It is the opinion of the Superintend that we do not want to deny transfer students. He explained that we do need to set a deadline date to accept transfers, and recommended that we set the date as May 29, which is the last scheduled student day for the 2013-2014 school year. He noted that the law does still allow us to not accept students who have been expelled from another school. The motion was made by Steven Cash and duly seconded by Nancy Wells to set May 29, 2014 as the last Transfer Student date. The motion carried with 5 yes.
• Registration began today. Central and Fillmore will have registration in their buildings on August 1st and 2", for those who do not want to register online. Other options available are the computer lab at the Middle School/High School and we will be set up at the Putnam County Fair.
• The first day for Teachers will be Friday, August 9, with the first Student day on Monday, August 12.
• Construction Update — they are working feverishly, even on July 41h and on weekends, in order to be done by the first day of school.
• We do not have the starting date for the exterior work to begin. There is a little overlap in the projects since the inside work requires some work outside. There being no further business the President adjourned the meeting at 7:36 P.M.
