Early literacy is very important to us! We are looking for pumpkin donations. Each class will have one pumpkin decorated like a character in a book to share with the school. Classes will go around the school to listen to the stories until Thanksgiving break.

Goodies with Grands
Good evening, South Putnam families: Putnam County Sheriff Baugh has just released an update via Facebook that reads: "No new social media threats to area schools. As of this evening, all social media threats and or informational posts about school threats have been investigated by area law enforcement. We have found no substantiated threats to our schools. All investigations are current, with no new investigations started since last week. Reports from our investigations, about the subjects who created these posts, will be forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for review. We continue to work with area schools and law enforcement agencies, to provide safety to our kids and school faculty each day. If a new post arises, please share with law enforcement and school officials, so we may determine the quickest plan of action to resolve the concern and provide the highest level of safety for our kids. Be advised the sharing of a social media post, about an unsubstantiated threat to area schools, usually causes more confusion than it helps resolve. Sheriff Baugh" https://www.facebook.com/PCSDSheriff Here at South Putnam, we will continue to be vigilant and safety-oriented, returning to standard safety protocols and working cooperatively with law enforcement should the need arise. Have a great evening, Dr. Smith

Update
September 11, 2024 Dear Parents and Guardians of Putnam County Schools, This evening, we were informed of a potential threat to the safety of schools across Putnam County. The threat, though non-specific and not directed at any individual school, did reference all schools within the county. It is important to note that this threat may be part of a growing trend of social media. However, we take any and all threats seriously and are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of your children. School administrators from across the county are working closely with law enforcement agencies to investigate the matter and identify the source of this threat. All four Putnam County superintendents, along with multiple school administrators, have been in continuous contact with law enforcement agencies including the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and local police departments to ensure that every precaution is being taken. As part of these measures, you may see additional law enforcement officers present at our schools tomorrow. We will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as they become available. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to maintain a safe and secure environment for all students. Sincerely, Dr. Dustin LeMay Superintendent of Schools North Putnam Community School Corporation Mr. Jeff Giboney Superintendent of Schools Greencastle Community School Corporation Dr. Corey Smith Superintendent of Schools South Putnam Community School Corporation Mr. Greg Linton Superintendent of Schools Cloverdale Community School Corporation
