Congratulations to Mr. Burgess, Mr. Rounds, Senior Danae Cline (IHSAA Student Advisory Committee member), and all of our coaches and players. South Putnam is one of the First Team AllSportsmanship schools recognized by the IHSAA. We are one of the schools who have achieved the state’s highest sportsmanship numbers so far this school year. Thank you for everyone's work and commitment to this priority. South Putnam chose the characteristics of integrity, communication, critical thinking and perseverance as our top "Profile of a Graduate" characteristics. We are all proud that our athletic programs reflect these characteristics as well while we strive to win. It is one of the many reasons our staff and students are proud to be Eagles!

Thank you to our Ivy Tech partners for stopping by to wish us a happy holiday. South Putnam teachers partner with Ivy Tech to get our students college credits. Our students can earn the ICC (Indiana College Core) of 30 or more credits and start college as a sophomore. Some students may even qualify for an Associates Degree. It is incredible what students can accomplish while at South Putnam!

The Eagles boys and girls varsity basketball teams played to a packed house Friday night! Every seat in the Eagles Nest was filled with fans! The exciting games resulted in a strong win for the girls and a closely fought match for the boys. Adding to the fun of the night, Elementary Eagles shot buckets between games for the chance to win ice cream for their class! Their principals almost pulled out a victory for all the students. We were rooting for you!

Congratulations girls! Excellent work! Your essays were well-informed, interesting and well-written. Thank you to Mr. Pruitt for encouraging and coordinating with the students to get their essays submitted. Way to go Eagles!

December 5th is International Leo Day and South Putnam Middle/High School is very excited and honored to have our very own Leo club. As one of the thousands of Leo Clubs in the world, our Leo club joins students from many nations in leadership, experience, and opportunities. Thank you to science teacher Mrs. Lyssa McKee for her hard work and dedication in bringing this organization to South Putnam. During the past few months the Leo Club has been working hard to complete the paperwork to be an official chartered club. As of November 6th, we have reached that milestone. Students have already participated in several service activities with the school including the trick or treat event and assisted our sponsor the Cloverdale Lions Club. We have many more events in the works (including the Lights Extravaganza on Saturday with FFA) and club members are excited to find new ways to serve the community.
